Cho Leads USC To 1st At Peg Barnard Collegiate

Featuring a second-place effort by senior Irene Cho and strong all-around team play, the No. 2 USC women's golf team led the two-day Peg Barnard California Collegiate after the first day on Satuday (April 8) in Stanford, Calif.

USC posted a combined 298 for a one-shot lead over San Jose State, Ohio State and Cal. Host Stanford was fifth at 302.

Cho finished second overall with a 1-under 70, including a 34 on the front nine, and is one shot off the pace. Junior Veronica Felibert tied for eighth with a 74 while sophomore Paola Moreno tied for 13th with a 75.

Sophomore Dewi-Claire Schreefel tied for 45th with a 79 and junior Catalina Marin tied for 62nd with an 81.

Freshman Shelcie Takenouchi, playing as an individual, tied for 69th with an 83.

Play concludes Sunday (April 9), beginning at 8 a.m.
