Bruin Individuals To Compete In Evening Session At NCAA Championships

UCLA's individual qualifiers Kate Richardson, Kristina Comforte and Tasha Schwikert will compete in the evening session on Thursday, Apr. 20 at the 2006 NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Corvallis, Ore. Richardson and Comforte will be vying for the all-around title, as well as berths in the individual event finals. Schwikert qualified as a vault specialist and will compete for a berth in the vault finals. In order to qualify for event finals, a gymnast must place in the Top 4 in that event during her session.
Thursday's evening session begins at 7 pm at Gill Coliseum. Richardson will be rotating with the host team Oregon State and will start the meet on uneven bars. Comforte will rotate with Iowa State and will start on a bye before bars. Schwikert will compete only in session four on vault during Florida's rotation. The other three teams competing in the evening session are Georgia, Arizona State and Arkansas. Competing in the 1 pm afternoon session are Oklahoma, Nebraska, Michigan, Utah, LSU and Alabama.
The individual event finals will take place on Saturday, Apr. 22 at 7 pm.
