Johnson and Landers Named Pac-10 Field Athletes of the Week

Senior Chelsea Johnson and junior Mike Landers were named the Pac-10 Female and Male Field Athletes of the Week after impressive performances this past weekend at the fourth annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational the Pac-10 Conference announced on Monday.
Johnson won the invitational women's pole vault section on Saturday with a jump of 14-5.25. It was the fourth consecutive meet in which she cleared 14-feet and she continues to hold the No. 1 spot in the nation with a vault of 14-6.25.
Landers earned the honor after jumping a lifetime-best 17-8.50 on Saturday to win the invitational section of the pole vault. His mark bettered his previous best by over five inches (old mark, 17-2.75) and tied the meet record. The mark also moves him into the No. 2 spot in the nation on the collegiate list, and No. 3 spot on the U.S. National list.
Also earning Pac-10 Athlete of the Week honors on the track side were Oregon's Eric Mitchum and Stanford's Chauntae Bayne-Hackett.
