Blue Team Ties for 10th at Cowboy Classic

The UCLA men's golf Blue Team tied for 10th place Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, hosted by Talking Stick Golf club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Bruins posted a final round team score of 279 (-1) for a 54-hole score of 857 (+17). They finished 21 strokes behind New Mexico State, which won the event with a three-round score of 836 (-4). Western Kentucky placed second at 839 (-1), followed by Arizona and New Mexico in third place at 846 (+6). Southern Utah finished fifth at 847 (+7).
Individually for the Bruins, freshman James Lee tied for 11th place at 211 (+1) after posting an even par round of 70 on Tuesday. Junior Peter Campbell tied for 18th at 212 (+2) after carding a 71 (+1) in the final round. Sophomore Matt Marshall tied for 43rd at 216 (+6) after signing for a 68 (-2), the team's lowest score of the day. Sophomores Craig Leslie and Brandon Christianson tied for 79th at 222 (+12). Leslie posted a 71 and Christianson carded a 70 in the final round.
New Mexico State's Danny Bowen won a playoff with teammate Ben Kreger to capture medalist honors. Both players tied at five-under par 205 after each posting a 68 (-2) in the final round.
