Stanford Breaks Out With 12-5 Win Over Sacramento State

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford (16-15) ended its season-high-tying four-game losing streak with a 12-5 win over Sacramento State (17-23) in a non-conference contest at Sunken Diamond on Tuesday. Chris Minaker (3-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI) and Chris Lewis (3-5, 2 2B, 3 RBI) led the 15-hit Cardinal offense. Joey August (2-3), John Hester (2-5, 2B, 2 RBI) and Ryan Seawell (2-5) also contributed multiple-hit contests, while Michael Taylor drove in a pair of runs. Stanford starter Matt Leva (2-0) picked up the victory by allowing just one unearned run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in his first outing since March 26.
Stanford returns to action with a three-game Pac-10 series at Arizona (15-19, 3-6 Pac-10) this Friday-Sunday, April 21-23 (7 pm, 6 pm, 12 pm, MT).
