Match Point:

The 8-13 Sun Devils over the weekend suffered a pair of losses on the road against the 24th-ranked Cal Bears (14-5, 6-3) and the #15 Stanford Cardinal (14-3, 4-1). The losses drop the Devils to 2-4 in Pac-10 standings with their final conference and regular season match to be played this weekend. Freshman T.J. Bellama was the only Sun Devil to find success over the weekend as he grabbed his 9th dual win and 14th overall win on the season with his 7-5(11-9), 6-4 win over Cal's Ken Nakahara, in the five-spot last Friday.

Against Cal, the Devils 5-1, with only T.J. Bellama winning in the five-spot, while his fellow Sun Devils fell in straight sets. ASU seemed to have similar luck against #15 Stanford who retaliated from an earlier loss to the Sun Devils this season when they traveled to Tempe in March as they swept the Devils 6-0. Both Nick Hegarty and Jonathan Kinsella pushed their Cardinal opponents to three sets, but ultimately fell to both. Doubles were not played in either match.

On Tap:

Next up, the Sun Devils wrap up their regular season as they host in-state rival, the #45 Arizona Wildcats on Saturday. The `Cats are currently 11-9 on the season and are tied with the Sun Devils at 2-4 in conference matches. The match is set to be played at ASU's WhitemanTennisCenter at 1:30 p.m. April 22. The match will count towards Pac-10 standings.

Stalking the `Cats:

The #45 Wildcats are currently coming off of a three-game losing streak with successive losses to Washington, Stanford and California. Leading Arizona is the 47th-ranked Roger Matalonga, who has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week twice this season as well as the 54th-ranked duo of Claudio Christen and Jeff Groslimond.

Series History:

The Sun Devils are currently led in all-time match-ups by the Wildcats, with the Sun Devils falling to UA in their last match-up earlier this season, 6-1.

Home Sweet Home:

Currently the Sun Devils are 8-6 on their home courts at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center, and for the past six years have posted a 65-35 (.650) overall dual record at home and a 48-27 (.640) record at home against non-conference teams.

In the Sweet Six-Spot:

Thus far this season, the Sun Devils have compiled winning percentage of 71% in the six-spot, where thus far on the season they have only lost six matches.

Tough Schedule/Tougher Conference:

The Devils as always find themselves competing against some of the best teams in the world, in one of the hardest tennis conferences in the nation in the Pac-10. Currently, three of the eight Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top 25.

Depth Chart:

The Devils have a great roster this year as they have five returning players with an older cast of one senior, Ryan McBride, and three juniors: Christopher Biro, Jonathan Kinsella and Nick Hegarty. The roster also includes two sophomores, one returning from last year, Mike Beatty and transfer from Miami, Ryan Waits. Three freshmen also round out the roster, T.J. Bellama, Will Grist and Wes Miller, two of whom have already jumped in to impact the Devils immediately.
