USC Third In Pac-10 Championships First Round

Senior Irene Cho and junior Veronica Felibert both fired 1-under 71s to lead the No. 6 USC women's golf team to third place after the first day of the 2006 Pac-10 Women's Golf Championship at Oro Valley C.C., in Tucson, Ariz., on Monday (April 24).

The Women of Troy had a combined 293, six shots back of leader Arizona State (287). UCLA is in second (291).

Cho, a winner of three tournaments this season, had three birdies on the day while Felibert had two. Washington State's Ana Kostina and Arizona State's Azahara Munoz are tied for first at 70 (-2).

USC sophomore Paloa Moreno, who is tied for ninth after a 73 (+1), had two birdies. Sophomore Dewi-Claire Schreefel and junior Catalina Marin tied for 33rd with 78s (+6).

The second round begins at 8:30 a.m. (MST) on Tuesday and the tournament wraps up on Wednesday.
