Cougar Tennis Heads to Pac-10 Championships

This Week - The Washington State women's tennis team (14-12, 1-7, Pacific-10) will send five student-athletes to the Pacific-10 Championships and Pacific-10 Invitational...tournament is scheduled for April 27-30 at Ojai, Calif.
Tournament Draws - In singles play at the Pac-10 Championship Ekaterina Burduli is matched up against UCLA's Riza Zalameda (No. 61)... Amy Toth squares off against Ceci Olivos of Oregon... Aleksandra Cekic competes against Carmen Seremeta of Oregon...WSU sends one doubles team to the Pac-10 Doubles Championship with Toth pairing with Marjolein van de Ven to compete against first ranked Alice Barnes and Anne Yelsey of Stanford...van de Ven and Aleksandra Stefanova will participate in the Pac-10 Invitational...Cekic and Stefanova will team up to compete in the doubles portion of the Pac-10 Invitational.
Cougar Success - Burduli and van de Ven finish their tandem season with a 10-2 record...winning percentage of .833 is good enough for third place on the WSU season doubles winning percentage list...Burduli is currently tied for third on the single season victory list at WSU, with 25 wins.
Last Week - The Cougars finished their 2006 dual match season 14-12 after splitting against two conference foes, Washington and Oregon...WSU defeated archrival Washington, 6-1...win marked first victory over UW since the 1999 season and first Pac-10 victory since the 2004 season...WSU suffered a heartbreak loss against No. 48 Oregon, 4-3.
