Metenier advanced to the Round of 16 with a taxing three set, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4, victory over UCLA's Philipp Gruendler but was unable to upset No. 83 Jonathan Kinsella of ASU in the second round falling 7-5, 6-3. Daniel Chu won his first match of the tournament defeating Arizona's Claudio Christen, 7-6, 6-4, but then suffered a 6-3, 6-2 defeat to Stanford's James Pade. Insausti fell to Jeff Groslimond from Arizona, 6-2, 6-0, in the Round of 16 after upsetting No. 88 Markus Schiller of Oregon in the first round, 6-2, 6-3.
