USC Closes Out Spring Play Against the U.S. Women's Under-20 National Team
April 27, 2006
The USC women' soccer team is wrapping up its spring season of competition with another face-off against the U.S. Women's Under-20 National Team, which is prepping for a trip to Russia for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship in August. Trojan freshman Amy Rodriguez also will be traveling to Russia as a member of the national team, but first will join her fellow Women of Troy for their spring match against the Under-20s. The game is set for 5 p.m. on Monday, May 5 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
USC faced the Under-20 squad earlier in the spring and played the national teamers to a tie before falling in a penalty-kick shootout.
This Monday's match also serves as a send-off for the USC squad, which will take a foreign tour to Italy in May. The Women of Troy are coming off a 2005 season that saw the Trojans reach the NCAA Second Round and finish with a 13-6-2 overall record.
