No. 23 Men's Tennis Struggles in Third Day at the Pac-10 Championships

OJAI, Calif. - The No. 23 California men's tennis team struggled on the third day of the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif. On Saturday, senior Conor Niland lost in the semifinals of the singles bracket and seniors Lennart Maack and Dean Wallace lost in the semifinals of the doubles bracket.

Niland fell in the semifinals to Stanford's Matt Bruch in two sets. Bruch won the first set 6-2, but just barley slipped past Niland in the second set, 7-6 (8). In the singles invite bracket, senior Dean Wallace fell to Stanford's Blake Muller also in two sets, 7-6, 6-3.

Maack and Wallace squared off against UCLA's top team of Philipp Gruendler and Benjamin Kohlloeffel, in the semifinals. Gruendler and Kohlloeffel defeated Maack and Wallace 8-6.

The Pac-10 Championships continue in Ojai, Calif., through Sunday. The matches are being held at Libbey Park.
