Big Series Between Cal and Stanford Baseball to Feature Two Televised Games

BERKELEY, CALIF. - The Big Series played between California (23-22, 8-10) and Stanford (20-20, 5-10) this week at Sunken Diamond will feature two televised games. The Friday, May 5 contest will be televised live at 6 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet (http://west.comcastsportsnet.com/channel-locations.asp for viewing information) with Ted Robinson (play-by-play) and F.P. Santangelo (color) announcing. The Saturday, May 6 game will be televised live at 4 p.m. on Fox Sports Net Bay Area, with Jim Watson (play-by-play) and former University of Arizona baseball coach Jerry Kindall (color) doing the announcing.
This weekend's Big Series is also part of the Lexus Gauntlet series, a contest between Cal and Stanford to determine which university will have the most success against its rival in head-to-head competition this year.
Both Cal and Stanford are still fighting for an NCAA regional berth. Earlier this season, the Golden Bears won two-of-three games over the Cardinal in a non-conference series at Evans Diamond, winning 7-6 on Mar. 3, losing 6-5 in 11 innings Mar. 4, and winning 4-3 this past Monday, May 1.
