Ekaterina Burduli Named Pac-10 Tennis Honorable Mention

PULLMAN, Wash - Washington State women's tennis sophomore Ekaterina Burduli was named Pacific-10 Conference Honorable Mention, conference commissioner Tom Hansen announced May 8.

The Tel Aviv, Israel native compiled 25 singles victories this season and led the Cougars in dual match wins with 17. Burduli earned her second Pac-10 honorable mention honor in two years at WSU. Her 25 triumphs put her tied for third on WSU's single season victory list. Burduli defeated six ranked opponents during her 2005-06 campaign. Her biggest upset came over Maryland's Ramona But then-ranked 31st, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.

She was selected as the third alternate for the NCAA Singles Championship in Stanford, Calif., May 23-28.

Burduli is one of three Cougar tennis players to garner Pac-10 honors. Erica Perkins was a second team selection in 1999, 2001 and 2002 while Stacy McKenna earned honorable mention in 2002.
