No. 20 Men's Tennis Falls 4-0 to Stanford in Second Round

STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 20 California men's tennis team fell in the second round to Stanford, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in Stanford, Calif. The loss ends the Bears' season.

'Stanford had a couple of advantages through the middle courts, but we usually battle back today we just didn't have it in us to battle back,' head coach Peter Wright said following the loss.

Stanford won the doubles point with wins on the second and third courts. Seniors Lennart Maack and Dean Wallace fell to Stanford's Jon Wong and James Wan, 8-0. Shortly after the third court victory for the Cardinal Stanford's Blake Muller and Matt Bruch defeated juniors Daniel Sebescen and John Pettit, 8-4.

In singles on the second court, Browne fell to Matt Bruch in two sets, 6-2, 6-0 as Stanford secured their second points. Stanford's Phil Kao defeated Wallace on the sixth court in two sets, 6-2, 6-4. The Cardinal earned the game winning point when James Pade defeated Maack in two sets, 6-2, 6-4.
