Francis, 19, was shot and killed on May 13 while riding in a car in his hometown of Baton Rouge, the unintended victim of a dispute between two other men. An only child, Francis had gone home to be with his mother, Paulette, for Mother's Day.
The 5-11 Francis started all 30 of USC's games in 2006, averaging 7.1 points and 3.7 assists to earn Pac-10 All-Freshman honorable mention notice.
He was the 2005 Louisiana Class 4-A Player of the Year while leading Baton Rouge's Glen Oaks High to a 36-0 record and the state 4-A title (he was MVP of the championship game).
