Women's Crew Receives Team Bid to the 2006 NCAA Championship

The women's crew team received one of twelve NCAA team bids awarded to Division I women's rowing programs today as announced by the NCAA. TheNo.16 Cardinal varsity eight finished fifth at the Pac-10 Championship along with the second varsity eight along with the varsity four that finished third. Head coach Aimee Baker comments, 'This is a tremendous honor for our squad to be invited to the championship. There are many great teams in the country and to be able to compete amongst them at the NCAA Championship is a true honor. '
Stanford raced at the 2005 NCAA's as an at-large eight and finished 11th.In 2003 the team finished 9th featuring a 3rd place finish in the first varsity eight and in 2002 the team finished 10th.
