Sun Devil Gymnastics Program to Host Summer Camp

May 17, 2006

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's gymnastics program will be hosting a summer camp next month (June 25-29) for girls ages 8-18 from beginning level to elite.

Staffed by the Arizona State women's gymnastics coaching staff, which includes head coach John Spini and assistant coaches Maggie Germaine and Bob Peterson, the camp is going to be held at the John Spini Women's Gymnastics Training Center on the campus of ASU. The $2 million state-of-the-art facility is fully equipped with new gymnastics apparatus, loose foam, channel and resi-pits and an advanced video system that will enable campers to watch themselves immediately after performing a skill through a delayed video feed. The overall goal of the camp is to increase the skill level of each participant while at the same time learning in a fun-filled atmosphere.

There will be an overnight program which will include meals and lodging on ASU's campus as well as a day camp that will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
