Corkery Beats Lecloerec of VCU, 6-1, 6-3 to Advance to Round of 16

KC Corkery advanced to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championships by defeating Arnaud Lecloerec of Virginia Commonwealth today, 6-1, 6-3 at the Taube Tennis Center. Later today, Stanford's Matt Bruch will face Erling Tveit of Mississippi in a Round of 32 singles match while Corkery and teammate James Pade open doubles competition against third-seed Kevin Anderson and Ryan Rowe of Illinois.

Corkery got the day started for the Cardinal by winning his second straight match in the individual competition. He is now 30-5 in singles this season. Lecloerec entered the match as the 15th ranked player in the country. Corkery, unseeded in the tournament, is ranked 25th.
