Bruin Rowers Turn in Strong Day One Performance

In only its second appearance at the NCAA Championships, the UCLA women's rowing team advanced to the semifinal round of competition. On Friday morning, the Bruins finished third in their qualifying heat which included Cal, Washington State, Tennessee, and Boston. The third-place finish was strong enough to boost the Bruins into the second day of competition.
The Pac-10 was well-represented in the Bruins' heat as Cal, Washington State and UCLA swept the top three spots. Stanford, USC and Washington will also be competing in the semifinal round.
UCLA will race in lane five in the second semifinal alongside Washington, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan State and Cal. The race is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. EST. Petite Final and Grand Final races will take place on Sunday.
