Vanessa Teff Named to All-Pac-10 Rowing Team

May 30, 2006

Newcomer Vanessa Teff was named to the 2006 Pac-10 Rowing All-Conference team. This is the second post-season honor for the freshman from Middleton, Wis., who was also selected to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) All-West Region team.

Teff is the only freshman on the 13-member All-Conference squad which includes six seniors. This season, Teff was a member of the varsity eight that capped off a tremendous season with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Championships on May 28th. During the regular season, Teff stroked the V8 to victories over LMU, UCI, Minnesota, Tennessee, Central Florida and Clemson. Teff was also part of the V8 that captured its fourth-consecutive Miller Cup victory.

'Vanessa deserves to be a member of the All-Pac-10 rowing team,' said Coach Amy Fuller Kearney. 'She came to UCLA and had an immediate impact as a freshman by stroking the varsity eight. She is a great leader in both work ethic and performance.' As a freshman, Teff will have three more years to compete for the Bruins.
