Two Trojans Earn 2006 All-Pac-10 Honors

LOS ANGELES -- The Pac-10 Conference announced its 2006 baseball postseason awards as two USC players, sophomore third baseman Matt Cusick (Mission Viejo/Santa Margarita HS) and junior outfielder Cyle Hankerd (Covina/South Hills HS), earned All-Pac-10 honors. It was the first conference selection for both players.

Five other Trojans: shortstop Hector Estrella, designated hitter Baron Frost, pitcher Ian Kennedy, second baseman Blake Sharpe and outfielder Darin Vieira received honorable mention recognition.

Hankerd led the Trojans this season in the Triple Crown categories, batting .383 (88-for-230) with 10 home runs and 55 RBI. Cusick batted .369 (83-for-225) as the team's leadoff hitter, posting a robust .486 on-base percentage. He had four home runs and 35 RBI, leading the team in walks (43) and striking out only 11 times in 286 plate appearances.
