Stanford Wrestling Inks Another Three Recruits

Stanford, Calif. - Justin Paulsen, Anton Scherba and Cameron Teitelman have joined three fall recruits and have each signed a National Letter of Intent for Stanford Wrestling and will arrive on The Farm next fall as members of the Class of 2010, head coach Kerry McCoy announced today. The spring trio join Lucas Espericueta, Zack Giesen and Jake Johnson, who signed with the Cardinal in November.
'I am really excited about our incoming class,' McCoy noted. 'The three we just signed are top notch. They all bring something special to the program. Cameron and Justin add much needed depth to our light weights and Anton will help solidify our strong middle weight group. Its going to be a lot of fun to have them in our program.'
Paulsen is a three-time state placewinner from Calvary Chapel in Pacific Grove, Calif. Paulsen took second place at his first state tournament at 103 pounds in 2004, finished in third place last year, and capped his high school career with a a second-place finish this year. He posted a 41-2 record this season and was named the Orange County Register's Wrestler of the Year. Paulsen also added a second place finish at the Senior High School Nationals in Pittsburgh, Pa. Paulsen is slated to wrestle at 125 pounds at Stanford.
Scherba hails from Marin Catholic High School just north of San Francisco. Scherba battled injury during his senior season, but was able to compete and fell just one match short of the quarterfinals at the 2006 North Coast Section Wrestling Championships. Scherba will likely wrestle at 165 pounds as a collegian.
Teitelman finished his senior season at Calabasas High School with a 45-5 record and a second-place finish at the CIF-SS tournament and his second consecutive Marmonte League title. He was a selected to the Ventura County Star's Boys Wrestling First-Team and is set to compete at 125 or 133 pounds during his career on The Farm.
