Donny Guerinoni Named To Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

Stanford, Calif. - Donny Guerinoni, in his third year with the Cardinal, has been named an assistant coach, after two years in basketball operations for Stanford announced head coach Trent Johnson.

Guerinoni, who was the first basketball recruit for head coach Trent Johnson at Nevada, came to Stanford in 2004, after spending two seasons as the men's assistant coach at West Valley College in the South Bay area. During that time, Donny worked under Danny Yoshikawa while attending graduate school at San Jose State University.

A California native, Donny was born and raised in the small town of Sebastopol, located 10 miles west of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. Upon graduating from high school, Guerinoni moved to Saratoga, California where he attended West Valley College. There, he played basketball under head coach Bob Burton and was able help his team win two league championships. In his sophomore season, Donny was named league MVP and first-team all state.

After completing his final year at West Valley in 1999, Guerinoni attended the University of Nevada where he competed in both the Big West and Western Athletic Conferences under current Stanford Head Coach, Trent Johnson. During his two years at Nevada, Guerinoni was named to the WAC All-Academic Team and was the top three point shooter for the Wolfpack. Donny graduated from the University of Nevada with a B.A. in business marketing in 2002 and received his masters in Kinesiology from San Jose State University.
