Wood Tabbed All-American 3rd Team

June 8, 2006

USC senior Taylor Wood was named a 2006 PING All-America third team selection, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday (June 8).

For Wood, among 30 first, second and third-team All-Americans, it's his second All-American nod after being tabbed an honorable mention selection as a 2005 junior.

It's the first time a Trojan earned All-American honors in back-to-back seasons since Brian Hull did it in 1996 (first team) and 1997 (honorable mention).

Wood, who recently qualified for the upcoming U.S. Open, tied for 27th in the 156-man field at the 2006 NCAA Championships. He was also a 2006 All-Pac-10 second team pick and earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention honors.
