Madison Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State's Jordan Madison has been named to the 2005-06 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII first team for University Division Men's At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Madison, a native of Pasco, Wash., carries a 3.91 GPA in business administration and carries the highest GPA for the 2005-06 Cougar golf team. In May, Madison received his third consecutive appearance on the Pac-10 All Academic first team, holding the highest GPA on both the men's and women's 2005-06 All-Academic teams.
To be eligible for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American honors a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), must be a significant contributor to the team, and be in at least their second season at their current school. District VIII includes schools in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and British Columbia.
The District VIII first team student-athletes (12) advance to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American national ballot with the final teams announced later in the month.
