USA Track & Field Senior/Junior Championships Start Wednesday

Numerous current and former Bruins will head to Indianapolis, IN Wednesday, June 21 through Sunday, June 25 for the USA Track & Field Senior/Junior National Championships.
Senior National Competitors
As of press time, 10 of 11 former Bruins listed on the entry list had declared to compete in the women's section of the meet - Amy Acuff, Candice Baucham, Jessica Cosby, Dawn Harper, Monique Henderson, Chelsea Johnson, Sheena Johnson, Tracy O'Hara, Suzy Powell and Cari Soong. Michelle Perry has qualified, but had not declared for the meet.
Acuff heads into the high jump competition with the fourth-best mark (1.96m). The prelims and finals of the high jump will be held on Saturday at 2:45 pm PST.
Baucham, the 2005 NCAA Outdoor triple jump champion, heads into the triple jump competition with the 12th-best jump (13.25m). She will jump in the prelims and finals on Thursday at 3:10 pm PST.
Cosby and Soong will compete in the hammer throw prelims and finals on Friday at 2:00 pm PST. Cosby heads into the meet with the No. 4 mark (69.50m), while Soong has the 12th-longest throw (65.41).
Harper, who ended her eligibility with UCLA two weeks ago, will compete in the first round of the 100m hurdles on Friday at 2:05 pm PST, while the semifinal (2:40 pm PST) and final (4:52 pm PST) will be on Saturday. Harper has the No. 6 hurdle time heading into the meet (12.80).
Henderson, the 2005 NCAA Outdoor 400m champion, will compete in the first round of the 400m on Thursday at 2:30 pm PST, semifinal round on Friday at 3:45 pm PST and the final on Saturday at 3:05 pm PST. Henderson's top time of 50.51 ranks fourth heading into Indianapolis.
Chelsea Johnson, the 2006 NCAA Indoor champion and NCAA outdoor runner-up will compete in the prelims and final of the pole vault on Sunday at 10:45 am PST. Johnson heads into the meet with the fourth-highest vault (15-1). Ohara will also compete in the pole vault, as she currently holds the No. 3 mark at 4.61m.
Sheena Johnson will run in the first round of the 400m hurdles on Friday at 2:50 pm PST, semifinals on Saturday at 4:00 pm PST and finals on Sunday at 1:10 pm PSt. She ranks sixth heading into the meet with a top time of 54.72.
Everhart, a 2006 outdoor All-American will run in the first round of the 400m on Thursday at 2:55 pm PST, the semifinal on Friday at 4:00 pm PST and the final on Saturday at 3:28 pm PST. His top time of 45.44 ranks 14th heading into the meet.
Rankin is entered in the 800m and 1500m, but could opt out of the 2-lap race to focus on the 1500m. The first round of the 800m runs on Thursday at 1:25 pm PST, semifinals on Friday at 4:30 pm PST and the final is on Sunday at 1:00 pm PST. The 1500m opening round will be on Friday at 2:30 pm PST, while the final will be on Sunday at 1:40 pm PST. Rankin has the No. 20 800m time (1:47.61) and the No. 3 1500m time (3:35.26).
Keflezighi is entered in both the 5000m and 10,000m, but may opt out of either one of those races. The final of the 5000m is on Thursday at 4:20 pm PST, while the 10,000m final is at 5:45 pm PST on Friday. His 5000m time ranks sixth (13:20.71), and his top 10,000m time is fifth (28:10.57).
Landers' entry is still pending, but if he does compete, it will be at 2:30 pm PST on Saturday. His top vault of 5.50m is tied for 19th on the entry list.
Leach, a 2006 outdoor All-American, will be going for her third 400m hurdle crown as she heads into the meet with the No. 1 time (55.35). Leach will run in the first round on Thursday at 8:40 am PST, with the final running on Friday at 10:45 am PST.
Jirges will compete in the first round of the 1500m on Friday at 8:40 am PST and the final on Saturday at 11:05 am PST. She heads into the meet ranked seventh with a best time of 4:37.44.
Correa will compete in the high jump competition on Friday at 1:30 pm PST. She heads into the meet in a tie for the fifth-best jump (1.75m).
Elijah Wells will be the sole male Bruin in the Junior competition, as he competes in the 400m. The first round will be held on Friday at 9:40 am PST, while the final is on Saturday at 11:55 am PST. He has the 13th-best time heading into the meet (47.16).
