Rosin, Lott Named Cougar Volleyball Team Captains

June 22, 2006

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Seniors Kelly Rosin and April Lott will captain the 2006 Washington State University volleyball team after a vote by the team, Head Coach Brian Heffernan announced Thursday.

Rosin, a 6-1 outside hitter from Springfield, Ore., is a four-year starter for the Cougars and is the leading returning Cougar offensively with 2.62 kills per game average and leading returning player defensively with 0.72 blocks per game.

Lott, a 5-11 outside hitter from Kennewick, Wash., is a four-year letterwinner who worked her way from an invited walk-on player her freshman year to starting several matches as a junior.

'This is the first time we have had captains since my arrival and it is so awesome that Kelly and April will share this responsibility in their senior year,' Heffernan said.

The Cougar volleyball team opens the 2006 season at the South Dakota State Jackrabbit Kickoff Tournament in Brookings, SD, Aug. 25-26.
