Blue, Willis To Face Off Saturday At Staples Center

Nikki Blue and Lisa Willis will meet for the first time on opposite ends of the court on Saturday evening when Blue's Washington Mystics and Willis' Los Angeles Sparks meet in a WNBA game at the Staples Center.

This will be Blue's first professional appearance in Los Angeles since being drafted 19th overall in April's WNBA draft. She has played in 11 games, averaging 2.2 points, 1.0 steals and 1.9 assists per game, with game highs of eight points, six assists and four steals. She ranks ninth in the league in assists per turnover (2.1) and 11th in the league in steals per turnover (1.1).

Playing with the hometown Sparks, who drafted her fifth overall, Willis has seen action in five games, averaging 3.2 points, 1.2 steals and 1.8 rebounds per game. She had season-bests of 12 points and five rebounds at Minnesota on May 31.

Saturday's Mystics-Sparks game tips off at 7:30 pm and will be televised on Fox Sports West. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or at Ticketmaster.
