Bixler Tied For Lead at Washington State Men's Amateur

Port Orchard, Wash. - Washington junior men's golfer Zach Bixler shot 1-under 71 in round three at the Washington State Men's Amateur Championship, tying him for the lead at 4-under 212 headed into Friday's final round. Jimmy Hayes of Redmond, Wash., is also 4-under after shooting 3-under 69 in round three.

Four strokes back of Bixler in third place is his Husky teammate and defending Washington State Amateur Champion, Alex Prugh. The Spokane, Wash., native shot even-par 72 in round three and is at even-par 216 for the tournament. Husky sophomore John Wise is tied for 29th at 15-over 231 after carding a 1-over 73 in the third round.

The men's Washington State Amateur Championship concludes on Friday at McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, Wash. Live scoring of the event is available at thewsga.org.
