Mackenzie Falls Short of Making Cut At U.S. Women's Open

NEWPORT, R.I. - Recently graduated Washington golfer Paige Mackenzie endured a tough second round at the U.S. Women's Open at the Newport Country Club in Newport, R.I., Saturday.

Mackenzie shot 11-over par, ending second round play 16 strokes behind the leaders. Mackenzie failed to make the cut for tomorrow's final rounds. Overall through the first two rounds she shot 74-82-156 and tied for 124th. Mackenzie finished 14th overall through two rounds among amateur competitors.

Leading the pack going into the final rounds are Annika Sorenstam and Pat Hurst at 2-under par.
