Rachel Buehler Joins Residency Training Camp

July 5, 2006

Carson, Calif. - Stanford defender Rachel Buehler reported to Residency Training Camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., as the team returned from break to resume this training block on Monday. She will spend a week at Residency Training Camp before joining the U.S. Under-21 Women's National Team for the 2006 Nordic Cup in Norway.

Buehler, one of the toughest and most rugged defenders in U.S. Youth Women's National Team history, also played on the USA's U-21 Nordic Cup title team last summer. This is the first call-up for Buehler to the full Women's National Team.

Buehler, a starter on the USA's 2002 and 2004 U-19 teams that played in the FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship, will rejoin the Stanford squad this fall for her junior season.
