Staples Center Dedicates Sparks Court To Lisa Leslie

July 12, 2006

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- On Saturday night at Staples Center, former USC standout Lisa Leslie was honored with her name inscribed on the Los Angeles Sparks' home court. Team president Johnny Buss made the presentation to Leslie before the Sparks game against the Indiana Fever on July 8, unveiling the floor now decorated with her name, number and signature at each corner of the court.

Leslie, who had celebrated her birthday the day before, received the honor in recognition of her successful 10 seasons with the LA Sparks and her significance in the community, according to Buss. After the ceremony, Leslie took ownership of the court on a whole other level, getting close to a triple-double with 22 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists.
