Five Bears, Cal Women Earn All-Academic Honors

BERKELEY - California's Kelechi Anyanwu, Adam Burgh, Kurt Seefeld and Brook Turner and now former teammate Osarhiemen Omwanghe earned spots on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Track and Field teams. Cal was also one of 75 women's teams to be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

Anyanwu, Burgh and Seefeld will be seniors and Turner will be a junior during the 2006-07 school year, while Omwanghe completed her senior track and field season last year.

The USTFCCCA honors individuals and teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the indoor and outdoor track seasons. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, an athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and must have met the NCAA Division I regional or national qualifying standard in his or her event.
