Mark Phelps Promoted To Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach

Arizona State head men's basketball coach Herb Sendek has promoted Mark Phelps to Associate Head Coach. The ten-year staff member under Sendek will enter his 18th year of coaching and 11th on the collegiate level this season. He helped turn NC State into one of the most consistent programs in the nation the past five seasons as the Wolfpack made an NCAA appearance each year.

'I am pleased to name Mark Phelps as our Associate Head Coach,' says Sendek. 'Coach Phelps was a tremendously successful high school coach and has been an invaluable member of our staff for many years. His character and broad-based professional expertise are recognized and respected throughout the country.'

The 43-year old Sendek enters his first year at Arizona State in 2006-07 and his 14th year as a head coach overall.
