Olson, Prugh Advance To U.S. Amateur Championship

SEATTLE - Washington golfers Erik Olson and Alex Prugh finished among the top four competitors at their respective sectional qualifying tournaments, Monday, to advance to the 106th U.S. Amateur Championship to be held August 21-27 at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.
Olson shot 8-under par 136 in the one-day 36-hole qualifier at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore., to tie for second place overall with Justin St. Clair. Olson carded rounds of 3-under par 69 and 5-under par 67.
Prugh finished fourth at his sectional qualifying tournament at the Loomis Trail Golf Club in Blaine, Wash. He shot 4-under par 140, carding identical rounds of 2-under 70 over 36 holes.
Former Husky Derek Berg will join Olson and Prugh at next month's U.S. Amateur, winning the sectional qualifying tournament at the Loomis Trail Golf Club. Another current Husky, Zach Bixler, finished sixth behind Olson at the Oregon qualifier and is listed as an alternate.
