Beltran, Myers, Zizzo Named To U.S. U-20 Milk Cup Team

UCLA soccer players Tony Beltran, Chance Myers and Sal Zizzo have been selected to the U.S. Under-20 National Team for the Milk Cup, which will take place in Northern Ireland on July 31-Aug. 4. The three Bruin players represent the most from any collegiate program.
The U.S. will leave for the tournament on July 27 and will face Wales on Monday, July 31. The U.S. will then compete against Denmark on Wednesday, Aug. 2 before finishing the tournament with a placement match on Friday, Aug. 4. The other group consists of Northern Ireland, Paraguay and Turkey.
Zizzo, a sophomore forward from San Diego, CA (Patrick Henry HS) was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year last season and scored one goal with five assists. Beltran, a sophomore midfielder who will play in the back for the U.S., hails from Claremont, CA (Claremont HS). He is a transfer from St. John's University, where he played in 2005, scoring two goals and three assists. Myers, a freshman defender from Thousand Oaks, CA (Thousand Oaks HS), is a Parade and NSCAA/adidas All-American who scored 37 goals and 17 assists in his prep career.
Zizzo and Beltran were members of last year's U.S. Under-18 squad that won the Milk Cup. Also on last year's winning squad were Bruin junior defender Greg Folk and sophomore midfielder Jason Leopoldo.
