Bixler Finishes 13th At Pacific Coast Amateur

SAN FRANCISCO -- Washington golfer Zach Bixler finished in a tie for 13th as the 40th Pacific Coast Amateur wrapped up in San Francisco, Calif., Friday. UW teammate Alex Prugh finished tied for 41st.

Bixler shot a six-over 76 on the final 18 holes of the tournament and finished nine-over 291 overall (74-72-69-76-291). The winner, Patrick Nagle, finished three-over 285 overall after carding a three-over 73 in the final round.

Prugh shot a four-over 74 in the final round, and 15-over 297 overall (78-77-68-74-297).

Fellow Husky Erik Olson was also competing this week, but at the Western Amateur Championship in Benton Harbor, Mich. Olson made the cut after yesterday's second round but finished in a tie for 50th after shooting a six-over 76 in Friday's third round. Overall he shot 11-over 221 (75-70-76-221). Olson did not make the cut for match play which starts Saturday.
