Seven Stanford Gymnasts Honored As Academic All-Americans

Stanford, Ca - Seven members of the nationally-ranked Stanford University women's gymnastics team have been honored by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) as Academic All-Americans for the 2005-06 academic year.
To qualify as an NACGC Academic All-American, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
The Stanford individual list includes Natalie Foley (4.00 gpa, Human Biology major), Aimee Precourt (4.00 gpa, Undeclared major), Alex Pintchouk (3.91 gpa, Undeclared major), Stacy Sprando (3.68 gpa, Human Biology major), Glyn Sweets (3.61 gpa, English major), Kelly Fee (3.56 gpa, Undeclared major) and Lauren Elmore (3.51 gpa, Undeclared major).
The entire Stanford team chalked up a 3.3731 gpa, which is among the Top20 gymnastics schools in the country.
In head coach Kristen Smyth's five seasons as head coach at Stanford, 20 Stanford student-athletes have earned 36 Academic All-American honors. Sprando has been accorded Academic All-American honors three times, while Foley, Elmore, Precourt and Pintchouk have been named Academic All-Americans twice.
