Marshawn Lynch to Be Featured in Live Chat on ESPN.com

BERKELEY - University of California tailback Marshawn Lynch will be the featured guest on an ESPN.com Live Chat on Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific). The junior is a candidate for the Heisman Trophy as well as numerous other national football awards.
Cal opens the 2006 season on the road at Tennessee on Sept. 2 in a contest that will be carried live on ESPN beginning at 2:30 p.m. (Pacific).
A native of nearby Oakland, Lynch rushed for 1,246 yards in 2005, despite missing two full games and the majority of another. He has garnered a bevy of preseason honors entering the 2006 season, including being named the eighth-best player in the nation by SI.com and the No. 2 running back in America by The Sporting News. Lynch has also been placed on the 'watch list' for the Maxwell Award, given to the top player in college football, as well as numerous publications' first-team All-America lists.
To increase awareness of Lynch's accomplishments, Cal launched the website Marshawn10.com.
The Golden Bears, ranked in the top 10 in six different preseason rankings for 2006, are coming off an 8-4 season that included a win at the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl. The Bears ended the 2005 season ranked No. 25 in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls.
