Watch Huskies Open Season At AVCA College Volleyball Showcase

SEATTLE-- The third-ranked Washington volleyball team opens the season on the road at the AVCA College Volleyball Showcase in Madison, Wis., and Husky fans will be able to watch both of Washington's matches via live video streaming Friday and live television on CSTV on Saturday.
The Huskies open the four-team tournament vs. No. 15 Ohio on Friday at 3 p.m. (PT), while No. 8 Texas takes on No. 9 Wisconsin at 5:30 p.m. (PT). Volleyball fans can follow the UW/Ohio match, including free live video streaming and live stats, on Washington's athletic website GoHuskies.com.
CSTV will broadcast Saturday's matches live from the UW Field House. The Consolation match will air at 3 p.m., followed by the championship at 5:30 p.m. Seattle residents can watch the matches on Comcast (channel 412), the Dish Network (channel 152) or Direct TV (channel 610). Resident's outside of the Seattle area should check their local listings.
Wisconsin, the tournament host, is making its third appearance in the ACVA College Volleyball Showcase, while Washington, Ohio and Texas are each making its first appearance. The Showcase, which began in 1995, has a strong history of participants going on to high finishes in the NCAA Tournament. In its 11 years of existence, two showcase champions have gone on to win the NCAA Championship, while four finished national runner-up and four have advanced to the national semifinal.
The tournament features some of the top players in the nation, including four AVCA All-Americans. Washington returns first team setter Courtney Thompson and third team outside hitter Christal Morrison, while Texas returns second team middle blocker Leticia Armstrong and third team middle blocker Brandy McGee.
