Off to their best start since 1998, the 3-0 Sun Devils head to Auburn, Alabama for the Auburn/Mizuno Challenge...The Sun Devils swept through the Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa Sun Devil Classic to take home the championship on opening weekend at Wells Fargo Arena.

Auburn/Mizuno Challenge:
ASU hits the road for the fi rst time in 2006, heading east to Auburn for the Auburn/Mizuno Challenge. ASU faces host Auburn on Friday night, a team they defeated last season in Tempe. On Saturday, they will take on #16 Purdue and then close out the tournament with Virginia Tech. The Devils have never faced Purdue and are 1-0 all-time against the Hokies.

Historical Start:
Thanks to their perfect weekend, ASU has turned in the best start to a season since they started 3-0 in 1998. Arizona State did not drop a game throughout the Sun Devil Classic, winning all nine games they played. The last time the Sun Devils began a season in that fashion was back in 1995, when ASU won their fi rst 18 games, part of their 7-0 start. The best start in school history belongs to the 1992 Devils, who began the year 8-0.

Quick Sets :

• Sydney Donahue has recorded 10 or more digs in 47 of her 57 career matches.
• Last season, 13 of ASU's 20 losses came against ranked opponents.
• The Sun Devils were picked to fi nish 9th in the conference by Pac-10 coaches.
• ASU went undefeated in at least one home tournament for the second straight year.
• ASU's game in Tempe against Washington State (10/20) will be televised on FSN.
• Kristen Trayser is expected to miss the season due to a back injury.
