The Pac-10 was impressive last week, compiling a 27-2 record against non-league foes. Of those 27 victories, 22 came by way of the three-game sweep. One more weekend of tournament action for the Pac-10 to add to its stellar 75-13 record (.852),then it's on to the demanding league schedule... The dominating play has not gone unnoticed as five teams grace this week's AVCA Top 10 rankings - No. 3 UCLA, No. 4 WASHINGTON, No. 7 STANFORD, No. 9 USC and No. 10 CALIFORNIA. ARIZONA comes in at No. 24... Here's this week's schedule (all times local to site):

PAC-10 PLAYERS EARN MVP HONORS - The list continues to grow... MVP honors have been bestowed upon Pac-10 players at the various preseason tournaments. The list to date: ARIZONA's Brooke Buringrud, ARIZONA STATE's Nicole Morton, CALIFORNIA's Angie Pressey (twice) and Hana Cutura (twice), UCLA's Nana Meriwether (twice) and Nellie Spicer, USC's Asia Kaczor, WASHINGTON's Christal Morrison and WASHINGTON STATE's Brittany Johnson.
ARIZONA - Freshman OH Whitney Dosty has posted double digit kills in each of the last four matches, averaging 3.73 kills per game. Junior MB Dominque Lamb has four or more blocks in each of the last four matches, averaging 1.50 blocks per game during that span... Senior MB Kristina Baum is expected to miss the remainder of the 2006 season after suffering an injury to her right knee last Friday in the first game of Arizona's 3-0 victory over Bradley. Baum was averaging 1.59 kills, 1.50 digs and one block per game.
ARIZONA STATE - Junior L Sydney Donahue has collected double digit dig totals in 19 consecutive matches. Donahue picked up 36 digs (6.00 dpg) at the Ohio State Tournament where she was tabbed the Tournament's Best Defender... Junior MB Collette Meek was selected the Tournament's Top Blocker after posting six blocks, all coming in the three-game sweep over Michigan State.
CALIFORNIA - Cal's nine-match winning streak is the longest since opening the 2003 season with 16 consecutive victories... The Bears saw their consecutive games won streak snapped at 20 in their four-game victory over Colorado State... Freshman OH Hana Cutura has posted double digit kills in each of Cal's nine matches this season. She's sixth in the league in kills (4.46 kpg) and is the tenth in the league in hitting percentage (.356).
OREGON - Oregon has started the season 7-0 against Division I opponents for the first time since 1991 (9-0) ... With three blocks, senior MB Kristen Bitter passed the 300-block mark for her career and now has 302, good for eighth-place in school history... Freshman MB Sonja Newcombe posted 20 kills in the win over Fresno State... Sophomore OH Mira Djuric has 16 aces over the last three matches (1.45 sapg).
OREGON STATE - Freshman OH Kaitlyn Myers received extensive playing time in OSU's win over Fresno State. In game three, Myers collected seven kills in 13 attempts with just one error (.462)... Freshman OH Rachel Rourke recorded 36 kills (5.14 kpg) in wins over San Diego State and Fresno State.
STANFORD - Since dropping the second match of the season to BYU, the Cardinal have run off five straight victories - all coming via the three-game sweep... Senior OH Kristin Richards needs one more kill to reach 1,500 for her career. That puts her eighth on the school's career list, 33rd on the Pac-10's career list... Over the last five games, the super soph combination of Cynthia Barboza and Foluke Akinradewo have combined for 132 kills (8.80 kpg) on 245 attempts with 17 errors (.469).
UCLA - At 9-0, this is UCLA's best start to a season since the 1993 campaign when the Bruins won their first 20 matches... Sophomore S Nellie Spicer was named MVP of the Pioneer Classic last week. She guided the Bruins to a .276 attack percentage over three matches, while collecting 151 assists (13.72 apg) in the process... Senior MB Nana Meriwether hit .500 or better in each of the three matches last weekend, including a stellar .759 against Texas State in which she posted 22 kills on 29 attempts with no errors.
USC - Senior L Debora Seilhamer moved into seventh on the Pac-10's career digs list with 1,525. She's one of eight players all-time to post 1,500 digs. She needs 178 digs to set the USC career record... Sophomore OH Jessica Gysin posted back-to-back matches hitting .400 or better. In victories over South Carolina and St. John's, Gysin had 27 kills (4.50 kpg) in 57 attempts with four errors (.404).
WASHINGTON - Washington extended its school-record home winning streak to 20 matches... As a team, the Huskies have hit .400 or better in four of the last five matches... Sophomore MB Jessica Swarbrick has hit .470 or better in each of the last five matches. Over that span, she has collected 43 kills (2.87) in 65 attempts with just seven errors (.553).
WASHINGTON STATE - Senior OH Kelly Rosin needs 26 kills to move into tenth on the school's career list. She needs 41 kills to reach 1,000 for her career... Freshman L Kelly Hyder leads all Pac-10 freshmen and ranks third overall with 5.59 digs per game. She's posted double-digit dig numbers in each of the Cougars 12 matches this season... The Cougars' eight-match win streak is their best since posting win streaks of eight and 11 during the 2002 season.
