UCLA Women's Basketball Team Ranked No. 15 In Athlon's Pre-Season Poll

The UCLA women's basketball team has been ranked No. 15 in Athlon Sports' pre-season poll. The 2006-07 Bruins are led by All-America candidate Noelle Quinn, who led UCLA last season in scoring and rebounding with averages of 18.1 points and 8.2 rebounds. Also returning for the Bruins are starting forwards Lindsey Pluimer (10.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and Amanda Livingston (5.7 ppg, 2.4 rpg).

UCLA (21-11 in 2005-06) has potential matchups against seven other Top 25 teams this season and could play up to six games against Top 10 teams. The Bruins have dates scheduled against No. 3 Oklahoma (Nov. 21 in Pauley Pavilion), No. 4 Stanford (Dec. 22 in Pauley Pavilion and Feb. 22 in Palo Alto), No. 7 Tennessee (Nov. 16 in Knoxville) and No. 10 Baylor (Dec. 17 in Pauley Pavilion) and have a potential matchup with No. 1 North Carolina on Nov. 25 in the Hawaii Tournament. UCLA will also play No. 11 Arizona State and No. 19 California twice during the season.
