Washington State Well Represented in Professional Football

PULLMAN, Wash. - Veteran quarterback Drew Bledsoe of the Dallas Cowboys highlights the list of 19 former Washington State football student-athletes currently on National Football League rosters
The Cougars are represented in every area on the field except punter and tight end. Rookie running back Jerome Harrison (Cleveland) and center Nick Mihlhauser (San Diego practice squad) are the latest additions to NFL rosters.
Along with Bledsoe, defensive backs Erik Coleman (third year, New York Jets), Jason David (third year, Indianapolis), Lamont Thompson (fifth year, Tennessee) and Marcus Trufant (fourth year, Seattle), defensive lineman Rob Meier (seventh year, Jacksonville) and center Robbie Tobeck (13th year, Seattle) have all made starts this season. Kickers Jason Hanson (15th year, Detroit) and Rian Lindell (seventh year, Buffalo) have primary duties for their respective teams.
Other WSU players in the NFL include defensive backs Hamza Abdullah (second year, Denver), Steve Gleason (sixth year, New Orleans), and Karl Paymah (second year, Denver), wide receiver Devard Darling (third year, Baltimore), linebackers James Darling (10th year, Arizona) and Raonall Smith (fourth year, St. Louis), defensive lineman Rien Long (third year, Tennessee-injured reserve) and center Cory Withrow (seventh year, San Diego).
