Cal Men's Golf in Second Place After First Day of Husky Invitational

AUBURN, WASH. - The California men's golf team is tied for second after the first two rounds of the Opus NW Husky Invitational at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash. The Golden Bears shot a two-round seven-over 583 (287, 296), tying with host Washington (289, 294). UCLA leads the tournament, which will conclude with a final round Tuesday, with a nine-under 567 (280, 287).
Top first day finisher for Cal is sophomore George Gandranata, who is tied for fifth with a two-under 142 (72, 70). Other Bear finishers included junior Michael Jensen, who was tied for 18th with a 145 (70, 75); junior Kent Yamane (72, 76) and freshman Chris Jensen (73, 75, brother of Michael Jensen) who were tied for 26th with 148's; and freshman Audrey Mindirgasov, tied for 56th with a 156 (74, 86).
