UW at Arizona Football Game To Be Televised Live In BofA
Sept. 28, 2006
SEATTLE - Through a unique cooperation between a number of involved parties, the University of Washington at Arizona football game Saturday will be televised live exclusively at the Bank of America Arena on the UW campus. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start with doors open one hour prior and there will be no admission charged to UW students or the general public.
FSN Northwest, UWTV and the Washington ISP Sports Network are working in cooperation with the Arizona and Washington athletic departments to transmit and display the live feed. The video, which will be an unedited feed that originates from the Arizona Stadium video board, will be mixed with the UW's radio broadcast and delivered to large screens in Bank of America Arena. Concessions will be available.

'Our football program has so much momentum right now and the community has really embraced the team's success,' said Todd Turner, UW's director of athletics. 'We want to do thank our fans and provide them with this very unusual opportunity to follow the Huskies. This is especially true for our students who have just returned to campus for fall classes. The participation by the UW Office of Student Life along with our broadcast partners makes this possible. It is truly a Husky team effort.'
Pac-10 Conference television policies prohibit institutions from televising games that are in direct conflict with conference telecasts. However, they do provide institutions with the opportunity to televise events during those exclusive time periods, provided the telecast appears solely on its campus.
The University of Washington football team has opened the season with a 3-1 overall record and owns a 1-0 conference mark following its 29-19 victory over UCLA last weekend at Husky Stadium. UW defeated Arizona 38-14 win last season in Tucson, which was highlighted by a 69-yard touchdown pass from Isaiah Stanback as time ran out in the first half.
