Men's Golf Looks To Continue Success In Oregon

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State men's golf team travels to Corvallis, Ore. this week to compete in the Northwest Collegiate Classic held at the par-72, 7,070 yard Trysting Tree Golf Club...the last time the Cougars took the course at Trysting Tree they finished in fourth place ...Monday's play includes 36 holes of competition, while a single-round of 18 is slated for Tuesday...the field will begin tournament play on Monday in a shotgun start beginning at 8:45a.m...Tuesday play will continue at 7:45 a.m. from the first and 10th tees.

The Field: The field of 10 pits the Cougars against, Oregon State, Oregon, Charleston, St. Mary's, UC Irvine, San Diego, Long Beach, Portland, and San Francisco. Washington will also send individuals to compete.
Traveling for the Cougars: Six Cougars will be traveling to take a swing at victory in Auburn, Wash. on Monday...the Cougars will travel four of the same golfers who participated in their last tournament the Opus NW Husky Invitational... senior Chris Collins, redshirt senior Jordan Madison, junior Jordan Mason, and freshman Nick Grigsby. WSU Golfers senior Kevin Chen, sophomore Max Reinland, and redshirt freshman Jeff Langin will be competing for the final two spots.
Last Time Out: Opus NW Invitational: Jordan Mason lead the pack of cougars with an 11th place finish...following him were freshman Nick Grigsby and Chris Collins who tied for 23rd...Grigsby's finish was aided by his third round 67 which moved him up 26 places.
Williams, On The Trysting Tree Golf Course: 'We have been there a lot of times with both the men's and women's teams, so we are pretty familiar with the course. It's a very good golf course with very tough greens with a lot of undulation. Outside of the tricky greens, the course is very straight forward.'
