Soderberg To Be Inducted Into Kitsap County Hall of Fame

SEATTLE -- Washington women's basketball assistant coach Janet Soderberg will be inducted into the Kitsap County Hall of Fame in a ceremony to be held at the Bremerton Tennis and Athletic Club Saturday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m.
Soderberg, who is in her third season with the Huskies as the team's recruiting and defensive coordinator, was a 1988 graduate of Bremerton High School where she was a standout basketball and soccer player. Soderberg was an all-league selection in basketball during her prep career and was named the Kitsap Sun Female Athlete of the Year during her junior year.
After graduating from high school, Soderberg went on to have successful career in basketball, both as a player and a coach. She played at Boise State from 1988-92, three of those years for current UW head coach June Daugherty.
Soderberg began her coaching career at BSU when she was a student-assistant coach under Daugherty in 1992-93. She held assistant coaching positions at Pacific, Boise State, and Nevada before arriving at Washington in 2004. Soderberg earned her master's degree in educational and counseling psychology at Pacific in 1995.
