Men's Golf Tied for Seventh Place

The ninth-ranked Arizona State men's golf team is tied for seventh place after the first round of the PING Preview. Led by Niklas Lemke, who is currently tied for first place, the Sun Devils shot a 7-over 287. Georgia holds the top spot after shooting a 1-under 279.

Individually, Lemke, a senior All-American, leads ASU with a 3-under 67 to tie for first place. Sophomore All-American Benjamin Alvarado shot a 1-over 71 to tie for 17th. Freshman James Dalthorp shot a 2-over 72 to tie for 28th. Freshman Tristan Bierenbroodspot and sophomore Steele DeWald are currently tied for 64th after shooting a 7-over 77.

The second round of the PING Preview will continue to tomorrow at the par-70, 6,809-yard Colonial Williamsburg Golden Horseshoe Golf Course. The Golden Horseshoe Golf Course will also play host to the 2007 NCAA Championship May 30-June 2.
