UCLA'S Katie Carter Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- UCLA outside hitter Katie Carter has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 25 - Oct. 1, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Carter, a senior from Steamboat Springs, Colo., led No. 3 UCLA to a pair of victories over No. 4 Washington and Washington State over the weekend, pushing the Bruins' record to a perfect 17-0 overall and 4-0 in the Pac-10.On Thursday, Carter tied her career-high with 23 kills against the Huskies, hitting an impressive .312 from the outside during the match. The following night, Carter led the Bruins with 16 kills and tallied four blocks in Friday night's win over Washington State.
For the week, Carter averaged 0.78 kills per game and 41 attack percentage points higher than her season average.
This is the first weekly honor for Carter, and UCLA's 51st Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
